A tree?

A crowd listens intently while Rusty imitates a tree, swaying in the wind.

Yeah, it's a crazy tradition at Moody. When a guy gets engaged, the guys on his floor ambush him at a very unexpected moment and haul him off to the plaza for a ritual called "flag poling." Basically, he's duct taped to a pole, slathered with shaving cream, and then accused of forsaking the brotherhood. "Evidence" is read (often falsified love notes) and he must plead guilty. His woman is then summoned to free him with a kiss and then cut him loose. Lots of fun.
